The To&Through Project’s events are intended for a diverse cross-section of education leaders and partners from the K-12, higher education, nonprofit, and civic communities. Presenters and panelists come together to share new research findings as well as share ideas and strategies for helping Chicago’s under-resourced students succeed in high school and college. The To&Through Project also hosts monthly Data Collaboratives designed to elevate and promote dialogue around new and emerging work focused on applying data to youth development efforts. To&Through Milestones Tool 101 Workshop
In this 90-minute introductory and interactive workshop, participants will dive into the To&Through's online public data tool, which shows CPS students’ outcomes on key academic metrics from the sixth grade through college. You’ll understand our specific philosophy on data use, learn about the different “lenses” of available CPS outcomes data, and how the Milestones Tool can (and can’t) be helpful in your work to strengthen student pathways to and through college.
October Data Collaborative | The Learning Partnership
Steven McGee, President, and Randi McGee-Tekula, Vice President, of The Learning Partnership will present on The Learning Partnership’s research on computer science education in CPS. Their work is part of the Chicago Alliance for Equity in Computer Science (CAFÉCS), which is a partnership with CPS, DePaul University, Loyola University, University of Illinois Chicago, City Colleges of Chicago, and Partner to Improve.

December Data Collaborative | CPS and Civic Consulting Alliance
From May 2025 to June 2026, Chicago Public Schools (CPS), in partnership with Civic Consulting Alliance, convened a diverse working group of school leaders, teachers, counselors, partners, and central office staff to develop a middle school strategy and plan that builds upon current initiatives as a key postsecondary success commitment.

To&Through Data Spotlight: Emily Oster on National COVID-19 School Response
Professor Emily Oster will join us to share the National COVID-19 School Response Dashboard that tracks COVID-19 rates in schools across the country. She will also demonstrate Stats iQ, a new statistical analysis tool tied to the dashboard.
Annual Update: The Educational Attainment of Chicago Public School Students
The To&Through Project and UChicago Consortium shared the newest report on the Educational Attainment of Chicago Public School Students along with new updates to the To&Through Online Tool. For the first time, the report and the Tool include outcomes from 2-year colleges and a new Postsecondary Attainment Index.
To&Through Data Collaborative: Moon Lee
Moon Lee will share the Noble Network of Charter Schools’ new Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) data system developed specifically for remote learning. Moon is the Chief Data and Innovation Officer at the Noble Network of Charter Schools.

Jessica Cañas and Michael Johnson will present on emerging community-based research efforts in Little Village and Englewood. Jessica is the Postsecondary Manager for Enlace Chicago, and Michael is the EQLP Project Manager for Teamwork Englewood.

Cason Brunt will share a curriculum overview, metrics, and outcomes associated with the Empowered Leader Experience, a brand new high-impact leadership development experience offered to college-aged Chicago Scholars. Cason Brunt is the Director of College Success and Postsecondary Leadership Development at Chicago Scholars.
To&Through Data Collaborative: Nour Abdul-Razzak & Max Lubell
Dr. Nour Abdul-Razzak and Max Lubell will present on the UChicago Crime and Education Lab’s evaluation of Choose to Change (C2C), a program offered by Children’s Home & Aid and Youth Advocate Programs. C2C offers youth intensive wraparound and intensive mentoring services that focus on addressing each young person’s specific needs, with trauma-informed CBT that helps youth process their trauma and develop a new set of decision-making tools.

Dom McKoy and Alex Usher will present an early look at forthcoming updates to the To&Through High School Online Tool that includes the addition of 2-year college persistence and completion data. Dom is the Associate Director of Engagement and Alex is the Associate Director of Data & Research for the To&Through Project.

Jeff Broom will present a consultation protocol on the CPS School Quality Rating Policy (SQRP). Jeff is the Director of School Quality Measurement and Research for Chicago Public Schools.
Premiere of the Documentary "The Second Window" & Panel Discussion
The University of Chicago Network for College Success, Consortium on School Research, and To&Through Project invite you to join us for the virtual premiere of the documentary film The Second Window: How a Focus on Freshmen Transformed a System on Monday, August 17 at noon.
To&Through Data Collaborative: CPS High School Data Strategists
The CPS High School Data Strategists team will present on adaptations to their Freshman On-Track data support in response to remote learning environments. Maggie Morrow is the Network 17 Data Strategist, Jonathan Harper is the Network 16 Data Strategist for Chicago Public Schools, Jenna Hindi is the Network 15 Data Strategist, and Ken Duncan is the Data Strategist for Network 14.
