Manager of Coaching and Improvement, The To&Through Project, Middle Grades Network

Miriam was born and raised in Chicago and is a proud CPS alum. She has devoted her career to reimagining how schools and systems can better serve their communities, expand opportunity, and empower students to be agents of positive change. In her current role as Manager of Coaching & Improvement, Miriam supports CPS middle school teachers to elevate student voice so students can meaningfully shape and improve their own educational experiences.

She began her work in education as a teacher at a K–8 school on Chicago’s South Side, where she later served as Director of High School Success, supporting students and families through the transition to high school. Most recently, Miriam worked as an education consultant, partnering with school districts across the country to strengthen organizational strategy, improve student outcomes, and translate ambitious visions into action plans.

Miriam holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University, a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a Masters of Science in Education from Dominican University. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, taking long walks with her pittie-mix, Brin, and exploring Chicago’s food scene!
