Vickie Song is a Data & Research Summer Intern for the University of Chicago To&Through Project. In this role, they assist with descriptive research and various data projects involving Chicago Public Schools. Before joining the To&Through Project, they were passionate about data-driven advocacy for public education and worked at a Tennessee non-profit promoting equitable education in the state.
Currently, Vickie is a rising sophomore at the University of Chicago studying Economics and Mathematics. They are part of John List’s research team, where they get to clean and analyze data on educational programs in countries with limited access to public education. When they are not busy working or studying, Vickie enjoys bouldering at First Ascent, knitting cozy items, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
