May Malone is the Urban Education Institute Public Engagement Fellow. In this role, May helps to expand awareness of and engagement with the research- and practice-based knowledge that UEI produces. May most recently worked as a Strategic Communications and National Engagement Intern at the Urban Education Institute. Previously, she produced, directed, and edited the documentary "After School" with the support of the Seidel Scholars PRISM Grant and interned for the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success where she supported efforts to improve college access at Erie Neighborhood House in West Town, Chicago. May now volunteers as a mentor at Erie in addition to writing, directing, and editing short films and music videos. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a specialization in urban education from the University of Chicago.
